ONE GOD ONE RELIGION PART 2-T: The Coming of the Ahlulbayt Foretold

THE COMING OF THE AHLULBAYT FORETOLD

We had claimed in Part-I of this BOOK that the importance of the carriers of Noor had been introduced in all civilizations across the world, much prior to the Noor actually descending in human form in the desert of Arabia. People knew that these were the people who enjoy the highest position in God’s schemes and waited for their arrival on earth. We have tried to show that the Puranas and Upanishads are replete with their mention. However, we are sure that some doubts would still be remaining in the minds of few, as you would like to see whether their actual lives matched that greatness that the Upanishads were bestowing on the Devatas or Manus. We must tell you here that the greatest of proofs are available in the Vedas and Gita, which we have not yet touched upon, and once we talk of them there will remain no doubt whatsoever even in the minds of most ardent critics.

In this section, we will confine ourselves to mentioning certain aspects of their personalities that are already known to the Muslims in general, so as to give to you an idea that they were actually the awaited ones. Please remember that we are only going to present a small portion and it is possible to write a book in several volumes that would enumerate their virtues and true position as per knowledge contained in the books of Muslims.

Before we proceed on this, we would like to present before you certain quotes and incidents that would make it clear that the Ahlubayt were revered even by the preceding prophets, including Noah, Solomon, Rama, Buddha and Jesus.

Musa (Moses) and other prophets after him had foretold the advent of Isa (Jesus), Ilyas and the “promised Prophet” in the progeny of Ishmael and the “twelve princes” succeeding him. The fact that the Ahlubayt traced their lineage to Ishmael confirms that when Moses talked of the “promised Prophet” and the “twelve princes” succeeding him, he was actually referring to Mohammad and the 12 succeeding vicegerents or Imams.

Verse 2:40 of the Quran talks of a covenant with which the Israelites were tied. It says:

O children of Israel! Call to mind My favour which I bestowed on you and be faithful to (your) covenant with Me, I will fulfill (My) covenant with you; and of Me, Me alone, should you be afraid.

In this verse, the children of Israel are reminded to be faithful to their covenant with Allah. And the covenant, which is talked about, is this:

This day the Lord, your God, commands you to keep these statutes and laws: be careful to observe them with all your heart and soul. You have recognized the Lord this day as your God; you are to conform to His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, and His laws, and to obey Him.

Deut, 26: 16 and 17

It appears the time has come now to understand what that covenant could have been.

As regards to the coming of Mohammad, Isa had said:

He will bring those bad men to a bad end, and hand the vineyard over to other tenants, who will let him have his share of the crop when the season comes.

It was a parable narrated to the Jews. It happened exactly as the Jews were warned. When the Jews failed to fulfil the covenant, the covenant of Allah was transferred to the descendants of Ishmael.

Jesus said to them:

Have you never read in the scriptures: The stone which the builders rejected has become the main corner-stone. This is the Lord’s doing, and it is wonderful in our eyes? Therefore, I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you, and given to a nation that yields the proper fruit.” When the chief priests and Pharisees heard his parables, they saw that he was referring to them.

Mathew 21. 42-45

This shows that the Jews knew that Prophet Mohammad was the final Messenger of Allah. They also knew that the Holy Kaaba, with the “black stone” set in one of its corners, was destined to be the qiblah of the true believers.

The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner-stone.

Psalms. 118. 22 and Matthew 2 1. 42

And Allah would fulfil His covenant with the Bani Israel. Musa (Moses) said:

For it was he whom the Lord your God chose from all your tribes to attend on the Lord and to minister in the name of the Lord, both he and his sons for all time.

Deut. 18. 5

I will raise up for them a prophet like you (Musa), and I will put my words into his mouth. He shall convey all my commands to them, and if any one does not listen to the words which he will speak, I will require satisfaction from him.

Deut 18,.18-19

The Christian Church is of the opinion that the aforementioned verse refers to Jesus. We are of the opinion that this claim is wrong and refers to the Prophet Mohammad, as Jesus himself is seen talking about the coming of someone else, in the same tone as Musa (Moses):

I will ask the Father, and he will give you another to be your advocate, who will be with forever - the spirit of truth. Your advocate will teach you everything, and will call to mind all that I have told you.

John 14.16 and 26

Jesus referred to the Holy Prophet as the advocate or the comforter who would succeed him and be with the people forever. Jesus’s prophecy is proved true in Mohammad and his descendants. We have already shown from the Upanishads how the 14 were created out of the Noor that emanated from the Holy Spirit (Manifest Self or Paramatma) and hence the 14 and none else befits being called the ‘spirit of truth’.

It was this Manifest Self or Holy Spirit (Paramatma) which forms an important constitution of Christian triad. Unfortunately, the Christians confined this to Jesus whereas the Hindus confined it to Ram and Krishna. While the Upanishads have been telling in clear words that the 7 spirits had been working through human bodies during all times, be it the bodies of Ram or Krishna or of Moses and Jesus. Jesus’s last words on cross too points to this. At a later age (we will prove from Vedas), all the constituents of the 7 Spirit were to come in human bodies in one region and age and it was a matter of great importance. Jesus had called it the coming of the ‘Spirit of Truth’ and the Vedas, as will see, had talked of it in great detail.

And see this narration from the Acts:

The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among yourselves as he raised me, you shall listen to everything he says to you, and anyone who refuses to listen to that prophet must be extirpated from Israel.” And so said all the prophets, from Samuel onwards; with one voice they all predicted these days. You are the heirs of the prophets; you are within the covenant which God made with your fathers, when he said to Abraham, “And in your offspring all the families on earth shall find blessings.

Acts 3. 22-25

Not only this, Eesa (Jesus) too announced the coming of the “Paraclete” (Mohammad or Ahmed) before he left this world.

And when the promised “Paraclete” would come, he will complete the mission by delivering the whole truth and shall never speak but whatsoever he shall hear from the Lord that he shall speak.

The Book of John

Very much like this, the Quran says:

The son of Mary said I have been certainly the Messenger of God confirming the revelation of previous scriptures and giving you glad tidings of a messenger Ahmad.

Eesa himself never claimed to have come in the fulfilment of the prophecy about the advent of the promised prophet, nor any other prophet, after him did so, except the Mohammad. In view of these undeniable facts the Christian Church had no alternative but to give currency to the belief in the Second Advent of Eesa. Musa and Mohammad were the lawgivers, whereas Isa was the follower of the laws preached by Musa. Therefore, the phrase “like you” applies to Mohammad, not to Eesa.

It is unfortunate that the Christian Church disbelieved Mohammad when he was born, in spite of all the aforementioned evidences available with them. As to this, the verse 2:41 of Quran says:

And believe in what I have revealed, verifying that which is with you, and be not the first to deny it, neither take a mean price in exchange for My communications; and Me, Me alone should you fear.

The Bani Israel are exhorted in this verse to believe in the Quran which verifies Tawrait and Injeel (the divine books with the Jews and Christians, more popularly known as the Old and the New Testament), particularly about the fulfilment of the prophecy, about the advent of the promised prophet Mohammad, as explained above.

And see verse 2:42 from Quran:

And do not mix up the truth with the falsehood, nor hide the truth while you know (it).

It refers to the scriptures, revealed prior to the Quran, which had been profusely tampered with, restyled and disguised by the Christians. Many rabbis knew the true text of the scriptures in the time of the Holy Prophet but concealed the truth, and when a few less careful, now and then, quoted them as mentioned in verse 76 of Surah Baqarah of this Surah (Chapter), they were rebuked for giving secret information to the Muslims.

The points given above are those which the Muslim scholars have been giving since a long while to prove that Moses and Jesus had foretold the coming of the Mohammad as the last Prophet. It appear that these points were not strong enough proofs because all this while the Christians have refuted these points and given alternate explanations.

From here onwards, we are giving certain points that are exclusive to us, though they have remained in existence in the scriptures all this while.

Christians believe in the concept of God, Holy Spirit and son. We have proved from our study of the Upanishads that God and Holy Spirit are indeed present and the God created the Holy Spirit (Paramatma or Manifest Self) as the Manifest Power, which created the One Noor of Brahma that divided to become 7 Noors or Spirits exactly similar to the One Brahma which divided into 7 Noors or Spirits. In essence there was only one Noor which appeared in several bodies. We have shown from Upanishads that Brahma remained no more once the One Noor became 7 Noors, thus also showing that in essence they were one. It is these 7 who have taken the task of leading mankind and all creations to the worship of One God of this universe. It may be said that these 7 Noors together are the agents of the Holy Spirit (Paramatma). Our self is directly related to them. When a common person raises his self to certain levels of purity, the self becomes united with the Manifest Self through the Devatas (you will see more about it in the commentary of Gita). The mind of the common person gets into communion with these Devatas and works as a Divine Office on earth. History has seen lot many Rishis, Seers and Nabis, who even got inspiration and guidance from the Devatas. At times, when these Devatas felt the need, one or the other of them (or the Devi) descended in human bodies to lead mankind and show them the path to worship of God. The Noor of Devatas descended (as Avatars) in various parts of the globe (This is confirmed by the Gita which says that whenever evil increases, the Manifest Self descends on earth to guide and lead mankind to get out of the trouble. This is also confirmed through a tradition attributed to Ali as per which he tells the various names by which he is known in various parts of the world and one of the names he mentioned is Krisna). What we also find is that Krishna, a mortal human being, at times speak as if the Manifest Self is speaking from his mouth. Mohammad too spoke exactly in similar manner; sometimes he spoke of his own and sometimes, when we say the verses were being revealed, he spoke as if the Manifest Self was speaking from his mouth.

The 7 Noors of Devatas were, as per need, descending in human bodies, at various places on earth, to lead and guide mankind from time to time, which was being continuously digressed by a very powerful Force of Darkness (Zulmat). It is possible one of the Noor was working in Jesus as well, inability to understand which led his followers to conclude that Jesus was the son of God.

But there was to be a time when all the 7 Noors were to come on earth together, one after another, at a secret place. This event was of such high significance that it was being celebrated through prophecies. You have seen Upanishads prophesizing coming of all Devatas on earth  to the extent that people of the earlier times waited for them and even wished they would come in their son’s time, if they didn’t come in theirs. In the next part of this BOOK, you will see the Vedas prophesizing these secrets in even greater detail. You will find the Buddhist teachings talking of the Devatas coming on earth. It is said that Abraham left his wife Hagar (Hajira) and son Ishmael at a barren land, close to where water emerged miraculously from near Ishmael’s feet (a fact supported both by Old Testament and Quran) because God wanted Abraham’s progeny to multiply so that the People of the House of God (the Ahlulbayt) could descend there in human body. To further reveal the importance of that place, Abraham even made a small House of God (Kaaba or Baytullah) on the foundations of structure of Kaaba made by Adam.

And here, we are seeing Jesus prophesizing of the time when all the 7 constituents of the Holy Spirit would come one after another. Jesus called it the coming of ‘the spirit of truth’.

I will ask the Father, and he will give you another to be your advocate, who will be with forever - the spirit of truth. Your advocate will teach you everything, and will call to mind all that I have told you.

John. 14.16 and 26

And see this narration from John which is clearly mentioning that the advocate will come in the future. There are two points to be noted; Jesus is talking of the spirit of Truth and Mohammad was known as Sadiq (Truthful) even before he had proclaimed before people that he was a Prophet/Messenger.  It is being said he will not speak of his own authority and there is a verse in the Quran which says in clear words that Mohammad does not speak but what is from God.

It is for your good that I am leaving you. If I do not go, your advocate will not come. When he comes, he will confute the world, and show where wrong and right and judgment lie.

There is still much that I could say to you, but the burden would be too great for you now.

However, when he comes who is the spirit of truth, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own authority, but will tell only what he hears; and he will make known to you the things that are coming.

John. 16. 7-14

Innumerable prophesies of Mohammad exist (there are a lot many even talking of the End Times and how Muslims will be defamed and Islamic teachings corrupted, which confirm the mention that ‘he will make known to you the things that are coming.’

Let us give certain more irrefutable proofs!

In the original Hebrew version of Old Testament, Mohammad has been mentioned in name. ‘Song of Solomon, Chapter V, verse XVI uses the term ‘Mohammadim’. ‘Mohammad’ is followed by ‘im’ which is symbol of plural; thus Mohammads. If you have been following the BOOK so far, you will know why the term Mohammads has been used.

Remember Prophet Mohammad saying:

The first is Mohammad, the last is Mohammad, the Middle is Mohammad, all are Mohammad.

These Mohammads together form the ‘Spirit of Truth’ whose coming was being prophesied by Jesus.

We all know that Mohammad in Arabic means ‘The Praised One’ but nobody has the right to translate a Proper Noun. It is unfortunate that commentators have translated the Proper Noun ‘Mohammadim’ as ‘all together lovely’ or else it would have been easier for them to understand the truth.

Likewise ‘El’ in Hebrew is God but ‘Elohim’ is a plural term. Commentators say plural has been used because of respect. Interestingly, you will see in our commentary of Gita that when Quran used the term ‘We’, Muslim commentators too concluded that the plural term has been used in respect. Both were wrong! Further, you will findin our commentary of Gita that it too is talking in the same pattern. Neither the commentators of Old Testament, nor those of Quran and Gita could understand why there was a regular shift from singular to plural and from First Person to Third Person and back. You will see later!

The Old Testament [Genesis 3.5 (LXX)] says that when Satan tried to influence Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, it said to them that if they eat the forbidden fruit they would become like the divinities (translated by some as ‘like gods’). The actual word in Hebrew means ‘divinities’ which was translated by early scholars as ‘gods’. But the people had no idea who the divinities were? It was their lack of knowledge which made some translate it as ‘God’ [meaning One God] and others like Irenaeus deviated further to say that the plural ‘gods’ referred to ‘believers’.

If you see closely, the same has happened to the translation of the Quran and Vedas. Wherever Quran was talking with ‘We’ and ‘Us’ and at places with ‘He’ and ‘Him’ in Third Person for God, Muslims erroneously concluded that God, when it wants to lay stress, shifts from First Person to Third Person and vice versa. [Read the book ‘Muslims and the Straight Path’; pub. 2010; Real Gain Publications, for the real truth] When the same movement was seen from First Person (singular) to Third Person (plural) and back in Gita, the commentators chose to ignore the issue altogether; I have not seen any discussion on the subject so far. This was because the commentators weren’t aware that there could be a higher power than Paramatma - the Manifest Self - and that power is the Almighty God (Allah or Brahman).

Likewise, Devatas were the subject of conversation in the Vedas. Entire Vedas are replete with their mention. All Vedic hymns are devoted to one or the other Devata. Based on their inability to understand who the Devatas were, several myths came in circulation, which can be seen in Ramayana, Mahabharata and Purana. The European scholars who studied them couldn’t fathom who these Devatas were and hence translated the Devatas as ‘gods’ (in plural), leading to Christian and Muslim scholars criticize the Vedas on the ground that it believed in multiple gods. They weren’t aware that the concept of One God was very much present in the Vedas as well and the Devatas were subordinate to both God and Manifest Self (Paramatma) but had an important place and role to play in the Divine Creation Plan. Unable to comprehend the true role of Devatas, later day Hindu commentators committed the same mistake that the Christian scholars had committed. They said by Devatas the various  powers and attributes of the One God are meant and where this meaning did not seem logical, gave other meanings like the material fire, the steam engine, Madam Curie’s discovery of radiation and so on. Thus the absurdity in translations continued to increase and the various Divine Scriptures continued to become more distant from each other in meaning and comprehension.

Since we have started with Old Testament, let us see examples of certain subjects mentioned in the Old Testament which the Jews and Christians have been unable to comprehend.

Other than the presence of the term ‘divinities’ (in plural) in the aforementioned verse, three passages in Psalms talk about divinities in plural which have been translated by some as ‘gods’. [Ps. 82.1; 50.1; 82.6]. And very similar to the ‘We’ or ‘Us’ of Quran and Gita against ‘He’ and ‘Him’ for God used in the same scriptures, Genesis, 3.22 too talks of ‘Like us’. We have reasons to believe that neither Muslims, nor the Hindus, Jews or Christians have any idea why this difference exists in their respective scriptures.

Psalm 50.1,3 (49.1, 3 LXX) refers to the phrase ‘God of gods’. Even this didn’t give an indication to scholars regarding the true identity of the ‘gods’. Quran too talks in a similar language when it, while referring to the Day of Judgment, says that God will be ‘the judge of the judges’. The Jews and Christians do not know the identity of ‘gods’ nor do most Muslims know who will be ‘the judges’ when God will be the judge of the judges. It is the presence of this phrase ‘God of gods’ in Psalm which make commentators conclude that ‘God’ is ‘the son, who came manifested to men’ while identifying ‘gods’ as believers or even as ‘false gods’.

[Christosis by Ben C. Blackwell, publisher Mohr Siebeck, 2011, Page 44].

He became human that we might become gods.

De Incarn. 54

Likewise Psalm talks of phrases ‘sons of the Most High’ and ‘You are gods’.

I have said, you are gods and all the sons of the Most High, but you die like men.

Psalm 82

‘Die like men’ is enough to relate that the Noor that would descend in human bodies to ‘die like men’ is being mentioned. But Zulmat was utlizing all its powers so that people do not understand the carriers of Noor and come to their path.

There are other instances where ‘gods’ is used. [Psalm 96.5; 81.9; Jer. 10.11]. There is great confusion among Christians regarding the identity of these ‘gods’. Mosser [Psalm 82;46] writes, “Iranaeus acknowledges that one can in a certain sense legitimately refer to glorified human beings as gods, but he insists that these are not the same kind of beings as the One God.”

Page 44 of Christosis says: “In 3.6.1, Iranaeus begins a new section of Book 3, in which he defends the singular God in distinction to those who might use biblical texts to argue for divine multiplicity.” [Balas, ‘Use of Interpretation’, 32-33]. These ‘gods’ have been referred to as ‘immortals’. Says Ben C. Blackwell: “Two primary characteristics that characterised the gods are that of immortality and power to bring order out of chaos.” [Christosis, page, 46].

We invite you to read Gita with us where the Manifest Self is saying the same, while speaking from the mouth of Krishna.Whenever there is loss of virtues and vices and irreligiosity come to dominate, an avatar comes (to bring order out of chaos).

The gods have been called immortals even in Homer, II, 1, 503; and Odyssey, 1, 31

Even Plato wrote that immortality is the defining mark of gods in distinction to mortal humans. [Timaeus, 41d)

Theophilus of Antioch hints towards this in To Autolycus 2.24. [See Kaufman, ‘Becoming’, 42]

Other philosophers make this clear as well, e.g., Cicero, De Natura Deorum 1.3, 1.14, 2.17, 2.153. Since the immortality of gods is so entrenched in the cultural grammar, Josephus is able to show the irony on Agrippa who is called a god but then is shown to be all too mortal and dies: ‘I, a god in your eyes... Who was called immortal by you, am now under sentence of death’ [Antiquities, 19.347]

John Passmore writes: “If in comparison with the gods man is “as nothing”, this is only because he lacks their power, and security which derives from their immortality.” [The Perfectibility of Man; London; Duckworth; 1970; 30]. Yet, these scholars couldn’t reach the truth!

Had the scholars looked into other scriptures, like the Vedas and Upanishads, they would have found that the Devatas (translated as ‘gods’ by commentators) were presented as immortals there as well.

Inability to understand the real identity of those translated as ‘gods’, Christian scholars created the concept of ‘Son of God’, thus further deviating from the intended meaning. Likewise, their inability to understand the true role of ‘Spirit of God’ led to the creation of the concept of Triad, thereby further distancing the Christian scriptures from other Divine Scriptures, which too were talking about spirit [like the Paramatma in Hindu scriptures and Rooh in Quran].

They will ask the (of Mohammad) concerning the spirit. Say: The spirit is by command of my Lord, and knowledge ye have been vouchsafed but little.

Quran. 17.85

Again, a secret!

Says the book Christosis: “The first reference to the activity of the triune God is recorded in the first account of creation [Genesis 1: 1-31; 2: 1-4]. There it states: “And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters” [Genesis 1: 2] and also: “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in Our image, according to our likeness’” [Genesis 1: 26]. “Elohim”, the designation for God used in the original Hebrew text, is plural. It means “the Divine” as well as “gods” and should be understood, in light of the gospel, as a reference to the triune God.”

Christosis further says: “The various divine manifestations, for example ‘Angel of the Lord’ [Genesis 16: 7-11, 13; Exodus 3: 2-5; Judges 6: 11-16], ‘Spirit of God’ [Genesis 1: 2], or ‘Spirit of the Lord’ [Judges 3: 10; 1 Samuel 16: 13] are also interpreted as references to the mystery of the trinity of God.”

It is clear therefore that the inability to understand the concept of divinities and Spirit of God and the wrong meanings given by various commentators created a situation where the Christian books, despite talking of the same subject as others, continued to become more and more distant from the rest. The same happened with scriptures dear to people of other religions; thus the distance continued to increase.

If you noticed, “And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters” is exactly similar to the description of Vishnu (Paramatma or Supreme Spirit) reclining on a lotus with nothing but water around.

Let’s give another example from Bible:

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you, the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give your peace.

Bible. 6.24-26

This description talks of the ‘face of Lord’. Quran talks of ‘Wajhallah’ or the ‘face of Allah’. And Upanishads and Vedas talk of Paramatma as Manifest Self of God. The term ‘Vishnu’ too mean the same. Wajhallah, Vishnu, Face of Lord and Manifest Self of God are literal translations of each other. When these terms were mentioned, in different languages, they meant one and the same thing, but the derived meanings were so different that none concluded that the different scriptures were referring to one and the same Power. One Christian commentator says: “The “face” of God is his personality as turned towards man, or else turned away from him. His face hidden or turned away is despair and death.” We found this understanding is not correct, particularly in the light of exactly similar terms in scriptures dear to other religions. Most Muslims too have understood Wajhallah wrongly and Muslim scholars have no idea of the Manifest Self despite the Quran giving ample hints towards it. Likewise, scholars of Hindu scriptures have mostly failed to understand the relationship between Manifest Self of God (Paramatma) with the Absolute God. The understanding of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh too is blurred and based largely on mythical descriptions.

Returning to Genesis 3.5 (LXX), we see Satan told Adam and Eve if they eat the forbidden fruit, they would become like the divinities. Who were these divinities that Adam aspired to become? Adam is seen as the first of all human creations by Jews, Christians and Muslims. The angels are supposed to be lower in status than Adam; that is why they were asked to bow down in supplication in front of Adam at the time of Adam’s creation (as per description in Quran). If this is so, then who are the ‘divinities’ who are so high that Satan tries to befool Adam in their name. And the fact that Adam ate the forbidden fruit shows clearly that Adam indeed wanted to become one like the divinities, even if it was at the cost of setting aside the Divine Command of not going near the tree (and eating the fruit).

Let us see whether the concept of Divinities is talked about elsewhere in scriptures like the Dead Sea Scrolls. While talking of “The coming of Melchizedek” (who is incidentally same as the Mahdi of Muslims, Maschiach of Jews, Quetzalcoatl of the Aztecs and Kalki Avatar of the Hindus), Dead Sea Scrolls say:

(Psalms, 82;1). Scripture also says about him; “Over it take your seat in the highest heaven; A divine being will judge the peoples” (Ps. 7;7-8) Concerning what scripture says; “How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality with the wicked? Selah” (Psalms, 82:2), the interpretation applies to Belial and the spirits predestined  to him, because all of them have rebelled, turning from God’s precepts and so becoming utterly wicked. Therefore Melchizedek will thoroughly prosecute the vengeance required by God’s statutes. Also, he will deliver all the captives from the power of Belial, and from the power of all the spirits destined to him. Allied with him will be all the “righteous divine beings” (Eesa, 61:3)

Describing the coming of Melchizedek towards the end times, the same scrolls say:

Then the “Day of Atonement” shall follow after the tenth jubilee period, when he shall atone for all the Sons of Light, and the people who are predestined to Melchizedek. (...) upon them (...) For this is the time decreed for the “Year of Melchizedek`s favour”, and by his might he will judge God’s holy ones and so establish a righteous kingdom, as it is written about him in the Songs of David; “A godlike being has taken his place in  the council of God; in the midst of divine beings he holds judgement”

Interestingly, Dead Sea Scrolls not only talk about certain ‘divine beings’ in the ‘council of God’ but also refers to them as ‘Sons of Light’ and say that the Songs of David too were referring to them. It won’t be unjustified to conclude that the ‘Sons of Light’ are the divinities that Genesis as well as Scrolls talk about - the carriers of Noor or Light. There is reference to Divine Beings at both places! I can give reasons to justify that when Jesus referred to the coming of the ‘Spirit of Truth’ in the future, he was referring to the Light of the same divinities descending in pious and pure bodies on earth, one after another.

Interestingly, even on the cross, Bible says Jesus referred to Ailya in words which suggested that Ailya had been his helper and guide in the past. This is exactly what we have proved from our study of Upanishads and other scriptures - Ailya and other Noors have been guiding and helping the Avatars and Messengers on earth at all times.

You are invited to read the prophesies of Prophet Mohammad regarding Mahdi and you will be left with no doubt that the events described related to time when Mahdi would arrive are same as those described for the coming of Melchizedek; this will be a time when the ‘righteous divine beings’ or ‘Sons of Light’ will rule. Interestingly, you will find descriptions related to Kalki Avatar in various scriptures dear to the Hindus very similar to the ones given above.

When we look in Quran, we find that while describing the conversation that took place between God and Satan who refused to prostrate before Adam despite the Divine Command, the Quran talks about presence of certain ‘Aaleen’ (in plural), translated by some as ‘higher personalities’. God says to Satan:

(Allah) said: “O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with my hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?”

Quran. 38. 75

Unable to fathom the presence of certain divine personalities besides God at the time of creation of Adam, various Muslim scholars have translated the word ‘Aaleen’ differently, including some saying that God is referring to the exempted ones, but fail to clarify that when none of the angels were exempted from prostration, who were the people who had been exempted? We are guided by a generally accepted tradition of Prophet Mohammad, which says that ‘I was the Prophet even when Adam was between sand and water (i.e. in the process of creation). The Prophet even said that ‘my Noor (light) was created prior to all creation’ and ‘Ali and I are from the same Noor (light).’ From Prophet Mohammad’s statements, it is evident he wanted to say that the Noor or Light which was working in his body was created prior to creation of Adam; thereby indicating that he was the first of the creation and his Noor was in existence even at the time of creation of Adam.

Islamic traditions give several narrations as per which the Ahlulbayt, in their Noor or Light state, had a role to play even prior to creation of Adam. Here, we give a few of them once again.

Quran says that certain names were taught to Adam at the time of his creation.

And He taught Adam all the names, then presented them to the angels; then He said: Tell me the names of those if you are right.

Quran. 2.31

We have quoted from Pooya/Ali commentary of Quran, earlier in this Part, which says this does not refer to the ‘names’ but to the ‘named ones’. It says that the personal demonstrative pronoun used in the Quranic verse refers to the conscious beings of a superior-most status, knowledge of whose names entitled Adam to the vicegerency of Allah. Till then the names of the highest beings along with the insight and vision of their realities, their latent qualities and inherent endowments were unknown to the angels.

Now see these verses from the Quran.

They said: Glory be to Thee! we have no knowledge but that which Thou hast taught us; surely Thou art the Knowing, the Wise.

He said: O Adam! Inform them of their names. Then when he had informed them of their names, He said: Did I not say to you that I surely know what is ghaib in the heavens and the earth and (that) I know what you manifest and what you hide?

Quran. 2.32-33

Through Adam the angels became acquainted with the glory of the glorious beings. When Adam, at the command of Allah, stated the names, qualities and symbols of those highest beings whose collective and comprehensive status can be termed as wisdom personified, the angels witnessed the glory of the infinite power and wisdom of the Lord that could create such perfect beings of the highest calibre, in substance as well as in style, like of whom they did not know till then.

Earlier, we have also quoted from Durr Manthur wherein Jalaluddin Sayuti says that the Holy Prophet had said that the objects shown to the angels were 5 lights of Mohammad, Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Husain, together known as Panj-tan. Quran has repeatedly talked of Noor, which is reference to them. The relationship between these 5 is exactly similar to the process of creation of first 5 Devatas described in the Upanishads and Vedas, though the 5 are understood as ‘five elements’. The Divinities like whom Adam wanted to become (as per Genesis) too must be these. When Bible says in plural ‘In the beginning gods created heaven and earth’, it is referring to these divinities and not God.

According to Bible, Gospel of St. Luke, Chapter 1, we are told Elizabeth had the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit), Zechariah had the Holy Ghost and it is also said Yahya the Baptist too had the Holy Ghost from his mother’s womb. Even Jesus, when he performed miracles used to say that he by the Spirit of Holy Ghost did this. It is clear from all these that Zechariah, Yahya and Jesus had the same relationship with Paramatma (Holy Spirit, Rooh or Manifest Self) that Rama and Krishna had with it. In other words, Noor or Light of one of the constituents of Holy Spirit, i.e. one of the 14 Devatas was working in the bodies of each one of them.

The fact that Jesus mentions the name of Ailya on cross and laments why it has forsaken him at that hour is proof that the Holy Spirit that was using Jesus’s body was that of Ailya, who is one of the 7 spirits as per Mundaka and Mandukya Upanishads, one of which is female. That Ali gave 40 names by which he was known in various parts of the world and one of these was Krsna shows the same Noor that was using the body of Krsna was working in Ali’s body. When Jesus comes again, the same Noor will again be working while the Noor of Mohammad will be working in the body of Kalki or Mahdi.

As mentioned, the Book of Revelation, last chapter of Bible, says 7 spirits of God went out into the world. And ‘John’ Chapter 5, verse 4 asks us not to believe in every spirit, as many false prophets have gone in this world. This makes it clear that it is the spirit of God that works in the bodies of true Prophets, but we never knew much about this relationship. As Quran says, Rooh is the name of the power of God; but very little knowledge about it has been given to man.
