ONE GOD ONE RELIGION PART 2-B: Islam & the Ahlulbayt

ISLAM & THE AHLULBAYT

In the Name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Beneficent

In every age, among all human societies, in different parts of the earth, the representatives of God were sent to put in order the affairs of people through laws applicable to the time and environment in which they lived. This has been confrimed both by Quran and Gita. Even the Christians and Jews should agree on this who believe in 7 spirits being sent to earth; the  spirits need human bodies to relate with the humans. Moreover, the Jews and Christians too believe in the coming of several Messenges during different regions and time.

Ability of man to apply reason and understand things and events progressed and advanced with the passage of time, therefore, certain laws and commandments (pertaining to theoretical, practical, intellectual, religious and legal matters concerning day to day life) which bring harmony and peace in every aspect of existence upon the earth, as well as make man ready to explore the higher regions of spiritual satisfaction, in certain cases and circumstances, had to be changed or substituted to pave way for further progress.

Islam is generally criticised for having too many laws governing lives. We must remember that laws are not made for the obedient but for those who are disobedient or have tendency towards disobedience. During the Satyug (age of truthfulness), when there was no evil on the earth and everyone knew the ways and means to subjugate to the One Lord, to elevate his self and to attain salvation, there was no need to tell the dos and donts. With time evil begin to dominate. Those who could elevate their selfs to the desired levels attained salvation and their spirits were no longer on the earth. Only those spirits remained on earth who could not attain salvation due to one affliction or the other. One yuga (age) was followed by another; and the evil continued to grow because of the same reason cited by us. Eventually, the world passed on to the Kaliyug (the dark age) when there were more people who had been disobedient or had tendency to disregard the teachings of earlier Messengers/Avatars. It is but natural that when the same Noorani Roohs will descend to impart teachings again, who had been imparting teachings through various pious bodies in various regions and ages, they would not make stringent rules to follow. After all, all those spirits who continued to remain on earth were those who had been disobedient or had not followed the path due to one or the other afflictions.

We have given proofs so as to conclude, from our study of Upanishads, that it were the 7 Divine Spirits who were created from the devatma-sakti [Brahma or the powerful Noorani Rooh] who had emanated from the Manifest Self prior to the creation of the cosmos, and the 7 constituents of this Noorani Rooh had taken up the responsibility of guiding and leading mankind towards worship of the Absolute God. They were introduced during all ages as ones whose path was to be followed so as to attain salvation. They were the masters of our organs of action and senses. When these  Divine Spirits used human bodies as offices in various regions and times, they foretold of the great event, about to happen in future, when all 7 of them would come in 14 bodies, in one region and age. A lot many incidents were foretold when this would happen and from their lives when the 7 spirits would dwell in 14 bodies, so that we make no mistake in cognizing them when they come in future. Unfortunately, man in all civilizations took to deifying them as gods. Zulmat [force of misguidance, may also be called Satanic forces] made man to forget the express purpose of their coming in human bodies, which was to lead mankind towards the path of spiritual excellence and thus salvation (nijaat).

How unfortunate it is that Islam (whose literal meaning is ‘peace’) has become synonymous with violence and hatred? Prophet Mohammad himself had foretold that this would happen when he asked his followers to follow the Ahlulbayt and said that if they would do so, they would never be misled nor digress. Those from among the Muslims who forsook the Ahlulbayt are greatest in deviation. Evil is visible in them from a distance. And it is these very Muslims who are today visible carrying guns and swords, killing and torturing innocent humanity. Ahlulbayt had been introduced as a link between God and us and by forsaking them, we also forsook the path of our God. It is but natural if we, from a deviated and forlorn path, seeking guidance, and no guidance would arrive.

If we superficially look at the scriptures dear to the Muslims, we won’t be in position to say exactly what their role was prior to taking birth in this world as Mohammad and his progeny. However, some relationship with the preceding Avatars or Messengers has been hinted by the Ahlulbayt themselves. In fact, they have given several hints to reveal their super-natural role in Divine Plan but we overlooked them because of one reason or the other. Some others who saw their extra-ordinary role deviated to the other extreme when they enhanced their position forgetting that God was their Creator and they too were His subjects. This was in contradiction to the Ahlulbayt’s own view as per which howsoever bigger role we give to them or we find mentioned in the scriptures, we must at all times consider God to be their Creator and Master. Since they were the very initial creation of God, their role and power is far higher than our imagination can reach.

At a preordained time, the Ahlulbayt took birth in this world, at a place they found most suitable. Mohammad took birth as the last Avatar of God, the greatest and the most manifest sign of Allah (the term Ayat or sign taken in a broader and higher sense means the best human soul created). He was endowed with divine wisdom, power and authority, and came to give effect to the concluding part of the plan of educating and training for the final unification of mankind through the true knowledge of the immediate as well as the ultimate. In the chain of the prophets of Allah, among whom some had been made to excel others (Quran, Surah Baqarah: 253), the last prophet, Mohammad, truly the superior-most, came with the final discipline and guidance. Once the path had been shown and the torchbearers to the path identified repeatedly, there remained no need for Messengers to arrive again.

Prophet Mohammad completed the teachings in his lifetime, and said that no prophet would come after his departure. However, the need to interpret the teachings and guide mankind on the right path in differing situations remained for all times. Therefore, he introduced his progeny, in whom the rest of the divisions of Noorani Rooh were to descend, whose knowledge, truthfulness and purity from sin were of the same level as Prophet Mohammad, so that they give authentic, true, and proper explanation of the teachings, dos and don’ts, also serve as an ideal to guide and keep mankind on the right path. Ali, Prophet’s cousin and son-in-law was introduced as the successor, vicegerent and Imam (leader) of people. He was the first of the 12 Imams [Adityas] and also one of the 14 Ahlulbayt [Manus or Devatas], whose role was to serve as leaders of mankind. Prophet left no stone unturned in introducing the true position of Ahlulbayt and called each one of them as equal in knowledge, virtue and status.

The first of us is Mohammad, the middle of us is Mohammad, the last of us is Mohammad, everyone of us is Mohammad.

Writes a commentator of Quran: “Only men of understanding know that the same quality of divine energy [devatma-sakti] which activated the prophethood was also manifested in Imamat (vicegerency of God on earth) with equal force.”

Innumerable words and deeds of Prophet and his Progeny (the Ahlulbayt) can be cited to prove that they were the highest creations of God. This was in spite of the fact that they always lived like normal human beings, who were far superior from the rest of us in piety, worship and servitude towards God.  We will mention a lot many examples in this BOOK.

As you are aware, we have claimed that the 7 Noorani Roohs kept descending in various Avatars like Rama, Krishna and Buddha and finally all the constituents of Noor descended one after another in Arabia. This future event was eulogized and remembered by many previous Messengers like Rama, Krishna, Buddha, Moses, Solomon, Jesus and lot many others who came in ancient European, Mesopotamian and Egyptian civilizations as well as elsewhere on this earth. However, all these claims would remain mere claims if we are unable to show from the lives of Ahlulbayt, through their words or deeds, that they were actually the Divine Personalities who were being awaited and about whom it was foret that they would take birth at a secret place.

......................................................................................

Talking of the virtues of reading Surah Ahzab of Quran, Prophet Mohammad is quoted as having said:

Whoever recites Surah Al-’Ahzab and teaches it to his family members…will be secure from the chastisement of the grave.

Majma-ul-Bayan, Vol. 8, P. 234

And Imam Jafar al-Sadiq, the eighth Ahlulbayt said:

Whoever recites Surah Al-’Ahzab frequently, on the Hereafter Day, will be in the neighbourhood of Mohammad (S) and his Ahlulbayt.

Ibid

This Surah with 73 verses was revealed in Medina at the time of the Battle of Trench, also known as the Battle of the Clans.

Verse 33:33 of this Surah is a matter of continuous debate within the Islamic circles as it refers to the Ahlulbayt and their thorough purity.

Verily Allah intends but to keep off from you (every kind of) uncleanness, O’ you Ahlulbayt (the people of the House)! And purify you (with) a thorough purification.

A segment of Muslims is of opinion it refers to the wives of the Prophet as the verses prior to it and succeeding it are referring to Prophet’s wives. Another segment cites the change from feminine gender to masculine gender in this verse to prove that it refers to certain special people known as Ahlulbayt. They also relate several other traditions of Prophet wherein the term Ahlulbayt has been used for Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Husain and 9 more sons in Husain’s progeny. What is evident is that God has camouflaged the true knowledge here as well, as is the case with Upanishads and other scriptures and not taken names, lest people remove the names from the scriptures.

God knew that a time will come when man will find the true identities of Divine Agents responsible to show us the path to reach Him and attain salvation. What we are doing here is to find the true identity of the Ahlulbayt, something that none of the existing sects of Muslims have been able to do till now. Are they really the ones whom Upanishads and Gita are identifying and whose praise occupies nearly the whole of Vedas?

We will come to the study of Vedas and Gita later. First and foremost, let us know how the books of Muslims describe them.
